Two ex-punks-turned Americana songsmiths cover each other’s material and collaborate on a new gem about more than a decade’s worth of indie martyrdom. You knew Jeff Caudill as the front man of vastly underrated but widely adored 90s emo-pop band,Gameface. Since the demise of the band in 2003, Caudill has been recording as a solo artist with a, let’s say, more “grown up“ sound. Brooklyn-based Drive Til Morning is essentially Francis Garcia, who spent the 90s in Austin, Texas indie/punk rock bands Fourth Grade Nothing and Pop Unknown. His 2003 self-titled solo debut was released on Deep Elm Record. This CD is the first DTM release to feature uptempo, full-band instrumentation. Jeff and Francis cover songs from each other’s recent and back catalog. And the brand new co-written title track will hit you where it counts and is worth the price of the CD on it’s own.
